Kodoku no Gurume is back for New Years Eve 2025.
Based on the manga of the same name “Kodoku no Gurume” is a gourmet documentary drama in which the protagonist, Inogashira Goro stops by restaurants he finds on business trips to eat delicious meals alone.
 
For the first time in five years, the drama special will be partially broadcast live.
 
Every year, Goro finds himself caught up in unexpected situations, but this year he ends up racing around to collect the rice and fillings for “onigiri” to be handed out at a certain countdown event. Accompanied by a small partner who brings a very different vibe from usual, Goro travels across Japan’s Tohoku region, visiting famous rice-producing areas such as Sado, Niigata, and Yonezawa, Yamagata.
As always, wherever he goes this year as well, Goro repeatedly finds himself taking on one request after another.
Along the way, he encounters a wide variety of local people and fully enjoys regional cuisine unique to each area.
With the countdown event’s time limit fast approaching, will Goro make it in time?
