Synopsis

Hashida Sanae works for an advertising agency in Tokyo but is physically and mentally drained from her work. Sanae and her husband Shinji end up moving back to his parent’s house in Ogata Village, Akita Prefecture, but Shinji ends up returning to Tokyo, leaving Sanae with her in-laws.

 

Yagi Yuya, a fellow villager, invites Sanae to go watch a local band practice, which has been active in the village for 50 years. Sanae begins to feel happy and learns about the varying opinions that people have in the village, yet they all come together to practice in the band.

 

Before long, it is time to harvest the rice, and Sanae takes on the challenge. As she struggles while harvesting, she sees for herself the Golden Seas spreading out before her eyes, as if to welcome her.
