Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai

Kishibe Mitsuru is a 31-year-old single man. After dropping out of university, he started a business capitalizing on his exceptional love for coffee, but it spectacularly failed, leaving him in a NEET position, completely unemployed for the past six years. However, he constantly maintains the desire to work and has always held onto the wish to somehow manage without relying on others.

Mitsuru possesses an unusual ability – “being unbeatable in verbal arguments.” Whenever faced with disadvantageous situations, he deploys various sophistry to mask his true nature and get by in life. However, one day, the situation takes a dramatic turn when Mitsuru’s sister, Akiba Ayako, arrives with her family at the coffee shop run by their mother Kishibe Fusae, claiming it’s a “temporary evacuation for home construction.”

The protagonist of this original story is Komano Kaisei (Sugino Yosuke) the hired manager of the bar “Clutch” which is Mitsuru’s regular spot.
What is he really thinking when interacting with customers? Triggered by Mitsuru, members of the Kishibe and Akiba families arrive one after another, and the story portrays Hoshino’s thoughts and lifestyle from his perspective as he gently accepts their consultations and family bonds while watching over and serving them wholeheartedly. The story connects with scenes from the main terrestrial broadcast, serving as a sequel featuring Sugino and regular cast members, allowing viewers to enjoy discovering which scenes continue from the main story and what happened after certain events.

Set five years later, Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai 2025 Spring depicts Mitsuru as he makes a fresh start by reentering the workforce after years as a NEET—only to fail after two months. Now, he once again sets out on the path to independence.
