Getsuya Kouro

Based on a novel by Akiyoshi Rikako, this story follows two unlikely companions: a well-read transgender woman who runs a stylish mix bar, and a troubled housewife whose life is consumed by a cheating husband and demanding children. Though worlds apart, the two are drawn together when the bar owner uncovers a long-buried regret her new acquaintance has carried for twenty years — and the unlikely pair set off on a journey to Osaka together. There, they find themselves entangled in a murder mystery. Drawing on her deep knowledge of classic Japanese literature, the bar owner unravels both the truth behind the crime and the complex web of human drama surrounding it.

Atsushi (Hirata Koukan), the son of Ryoko (Aso Kumiko), walks into Marquee Moon. Kominato (Shibukawa Kiyohiko) senses something in Atsushi as he tentatively asks about Luna (Haru) and Ryoko. Throughout the conversation Tamura (Shuntaro Yanagi) also gets involved.

Atsushi’s complex feelings towards his mother gradually begin to unravel—.Eventually, prompted by ‘a certain book’ recommended by Kominato, the story takes an unexpected turn?
