Synopsis
As the eldest son, Miyazawa Kenji (Suda Masaki) was in line to succeed his doting father, Masajiro (Yakusho Koji), as a pawnbroker, but declined with an earnest to walk his own path. From agriculture, jewelry-making, and religion, Kenji has tried it, but just as he takes up writing, his younger sister Toshi (Mori Nana) becomes seriously ill.
Based on Kodai Yoshinobu’s Father of the Galactic Railway (銀河鉄道の父), a masterpiece depicting the ultimate familial love between Miyazawa Kenji and his family.
