Synopsis

In the 1950s, in Shimane Prefecture’s Yasugi, Fumie enters into an arranged marriage with Murai Shigeru, a struggling manga artist ten years her senior, and marries him just five days after their first meeting. Their newlywed life is marked by extreme poverty, but witnessing her husband’s unwavering dedication to his manga work despite their circumstances, Fumie resolves to “live life together with this man.” This is the story of a long journey walked by a married couple, told from the perspective of the wife of manga artist Mizuki Shigeru.
