Chiruran: Shinsengumi Chinkonka

This is the two episode SP prequel that was aired prior to Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem – Kyoto Kessen-hen.
 
The hotheaded delinquent Hijikata Toshizo spent his days constantly getting into fights. But after meeting Kondo Isami, Yamanami Keisuke, and Okita Souji, he found his first true family at the Shieikan dojo.
 
Through a life-or-death battle against the infamous swordsman Okada Izo, who terrorized Edo with a string of deadly street killings, Hijikata forged an unbreakable friendship with his comrades and vowed to face Okada again.
 
Driven by their shared ambitions, the group eventually traveled to Kyoto. Waiting for them there was the overwhelming brutality and madness of Serizawa Kamo—and the unstoppable tide of a turbulent era that would change their lives forever.

This is the continuation to the drama Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem – Edo Seishun-hen (Edo Youth Arc).
This series consists of 2 parts, Edo Seishun-hen and Kyoto Kessen-hen (Kyoto Showdown Arc). Both are part of the “Chiruran: Shinsengumi Chinkonka” series.
 
Set in Kyoto during the final days of the Edo period, this bold reimagining brings to life the raw and passionate struggles of the Shinsengumi warriors. Friendship, betrayal, and unshakable convictions collide in a story inspired by historical events.
 
Hot-tempered and reckless, Hijikata Toshizo – known as the “Baragaki” – sought only to become the strongest. His fateful encounter with Kondo Isami, and later with extraordinary warriors such as Okita Soji and Saito Hajime, led to the creation of the legendary Shinsengumi.
 
Set in an era of great upheaval, the story explores how these men questioned their own purpose, lived with burning conviction, and embraced death with dazzling intensity.
