Last Man

Minami Hiromi is a blind investigator for the FBI in the US. He is referred to as the “Last Man” due to the use of his keen analytical skills as well as his sense of touch and smell to solve any case, regardless of difficulty.
For the purpose of strengthening the cooperation between the Japanese National Police Agency and the FBI, he comes to Japan.

Godo Shintaro is the director of the National Police Agency Personnel Exchange Planning Office. While other members of his family have served as Commissioner of the agency for many generations, he chooses to work among this field and because of his strong sense of justice will do anything to catch criminals. Due to this stance, he has many enemies within the police organisation.
However, he is ordered by his older brother, who is seen as the next Commissioner of the National Police Agency, to be Minami’s attendant.

Despite their contrasting personalities, the two begin to work together as a duo to solve cases.

It has been announced that Last Man will be made into a movie with the leads returning as detective duo Minami Hiromi and Godo Shintaro. The story for the movie has yet to be revealed but the original drama follows Minami Hiromi, a blind investigator, who is referred to as the “Last Man” due to the use of his keen analytical skills as well as his sense of touch and smell to solve any case, regardless of difficulty. He is teamed up with Godo Shintaro, a field officer with a tough stance and a top arrest record, and despite their mismatched personalities, they learn to work together as a duo to solve cases.

The special will depict the story continuing from the final episode of the drama series.

In 2025, Minami returns to Japan to appear on a television program, but the studio he visits is suddenly seized by armed terrorists. During the live broadcast, the terrorists take the news anchors and the Prime Minister hostage, demanding one billion dollars and threatening to detonate a bomb in Tokyo if their demands aren’t met. When Shintaro learns that Minami has been captured, he rushes to the studio to rescue him and the other hostages, unaware that Sakura, Minami’s attendant, is already hiding inside.
