Synopsis

Niikura Yasuto (30), a creative director with a burning desire to create stylish commercials, is shooting one for a low malt beer called “Beer Light. The client’s advertising manager, Fujiki, is impressed by Niikura’s plan, and the director, Amemiya, has high hopes of winning an advertising award. Ishigawara, a hard-headed advertising manager, is concerned that Niikura’s plan is different from the conventional beer commercials, and asks for multiple revisions. The commercial deviates further and further from the original script. Amemiya becomes frustrated, and the talent actress, Rinka, becomes irritated.

 

Rinka explodes with frustration and refuses to shoot, the camera malfunctions, and the atmosphere on the set is tense. The crew decides to take a break. Niikura is depressed because he has hit a wall, and Fujiki is frustrated that he could not bring Ishigawara around. They both drink some Beer Light, and feeling better, Niikara comes to the realization that he has not been able to see anything about the most important product. Niikura returns to his starting point, and wins everyone’s trust, not to win an award, but to make a commercial that truly showcases the product.
