Synopsis

“Please build the house you want to live in” was the only request entrusted to the architect Aose Minoru (Nishijima Hidetoshi) from his client, Yoshino Touta (Ito Atsushi). It was a heaven-sent opportunity that stirs up an architect’s creative urge. It was even more so for Aose, who had divorced his wife, Yukari (Miyazawa Rie), after the bubble burst, and was working as if in an assembly line. The planned construction site was Shinano Oiwake, a resort area in the town of Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture. With the support of his boss and friend, Okajima Akihiko (Kitamura Kazuki), Aose puts his whole heart into it an completes the house. The family of the client, Yoshino Touta, seemed satisfied, too. One year later, however, it comes to light that Yoshino Touta and his family never moved in and the house remained unoccupied. The only thing in the room is a chair associated with Bruno Taut, a German architect. What happened to the Yoshino family? What is Okajima hiding? And is Yukari involved in this matter?
