Synopsis

Yui (Ashida Mana) and “Kenken” / Kenji (Okayama Amane) grew up as next-door neighbors in Morioka City, so close they could talk through their bedroom windows. Yui lives with her mother, who runs a Nambu ironware shop, while Kenken’s family operates a tofu shop. Talented at drawing, Kenken went on to study in Tokyo and now works at a small design firm. To Yui, her slightly older neighbor has always been someone she admires – and secretly has feelings for.

After junior college, Yui starts working at a local company but quickly becomes overwhelmed. One day, she flees the office and finds herself at Kenken’s place in Tokyo. Though he was entertaining friends, including a beautiful woman, Kenken sends them away when he sees Yui’s distress and quietly listens to her.

Spending the night there restores Yui’s spirits, and she soon quits her job. With Kenken’s family tofu shop short-staffed, she begins helping out, which is a dream come true for her. Just as she settles into this new, fulfilling life, Kenken suddenly returns home for good, deciding to take over the shop. Working side by side with him every day feels like a dream for Yui, who wishes their happiness could last forever.. but it seems destiny has other plans!
