Synopsis

Moonstone.
The main character, Oba Sayuri, is the wife of a city councilor. She lives in an upscale residential area and seems to have nothing to worry about, but she is subjected to daily domestic violence by her husband. One day, in an attempt to protect her daughter from her husband’s violence, she kills him. She is arrested and questioned by the police when a woman appears before her. The story progresses in sync with her recollections of her junior high school days, and a surprising twist awaits us at the end.

 

Flame
Every morning, high school student Kagawa Arisa takes the bus to school. Her daily routine is to look at the profile of Tachiki Shogo, a senior whom she admires. One day, Tachiki suddenly burns himself to death on the school tennis court. Arisa is shocked by this momentary event, but she and Narasaki Hatsune, who was close to Tachiki, investigate the cause of the suicide. What drove Tachiki to choose death?

Miyamoto Kimiko is a housewife who has been married for over 20 years and works part-time at a local supermarket. When Kimiko turns on the TV, she sees her classmate Enomoto Haruka. Haruka is a popular cookery researcher, and her success makes Kimiko, who feels plain, think that she could escape from her boring life if she meets Haruka and contacts her. They meet again at a coffee shop for the first time in over 20 years. As they reminisce, Haruka suddenly murmurs, “I think I may have killed someone.”
