Synopsis

In 1972 Japan, amid remarkable economic growth, the post-war era seemed distant as Japanese citizens pursued prosperity. Against this societal current, Tsujihara Tamotsu (Motoki Masahiro), a journalist from a Nagasaki broadcasting station, began collecting testimonies from atomic bomb survivors. However, at that time, the wounds of the atomic bombing remained raw, and survivors’ experiences were considered taboo subjects. Recording these testimonies was a “lonely” and arduous task, misunderstood by those around him. During this period, Tsujihara has a fateful encounter with Kuno Kazuhei, an atomic bomb survivor. Tsujihara is deeply moved by Kuno’s “voice” and becomes determined to share it with others. Yet, this “voice” is also shrouded in numerous mysteries.

Based on the true story of journalist Akihito Ito, who interviewed atomic bomb survivors in Nagasaki.
