Synopsis

This human drama centers on Eto Megumi, a mid-level editor who visits the home of deceased bestselling mystery novelist Serizawa Kan one year after his fatal fall down a staircase. Serizawa’s wife, Mariko, tells Eto about an unpublished manuscript, leading Eto to discover the author’s diary — a treasure that fills her with exhilaration and guilt.
As Eto reads, the content seems authentic yet somehow different from the Serizawa she knew. The truth is that after his death, Mariko discovered Serizawa had been confiding only to a generative AI. She secretly added elements from those AI conversations to the diary as creative writing before showing it to Eto.
Driven by growing ambition, Eto crosses ethical boundaries and proposes they polish the diary for publication. Mariko, desperate to understand her late husband’s true feelings, agrees. But their deception born from mutual desire unleashes unexpected chaos.
