High school student Katagiri Yuichi cares about friendship more than money because of his mother’s teachings. One day, Yuichi and his close friends, Shiho, Tenji, Makoto and Yutori, are suddenly forced to participate in a mysterious game of wits that involves a lot of money. It is supposed to be a simple game. However, friendships are unexpectedly tested under extreme conditions which triggers paranoia. The trick to clearing the game is to trust in friends. But will Yuichi and his friends choose money over friendship?
The story follows high school student Katagiri Yuichi, who values friendship over money, as he and his friends get caught up in a mysterious game that tests their bonds. When 2 million yen collected from the entire class for a school trip is stolen by someone unknown, Katagiri Yuichi receives a letter from vice class representative Sawaragi Shiho, who claims to feel responsible for the theft incident. However, when he arrives at the meeting place, he finds Shiho (who says she was also summoned by Yuichi) along with friends Mikasa Tenji, Shibe Makoto, and Kokorogi Yutori. After being attacked by unknown assailants, the five are confined to a room where they learn that one of them has accumulated a 20 million yen debt and has enrolled their friends in the “Tomodachi Game” to help repay it. Successfully clearing the game will eliminate the debt, but failure means each person must bear 4 million yen. Although the key to clearing these friendship-testing games is to never doubt your friends, the games are specifically designed to make them suspicious of each other.
This is the final chapter of the “Tomodachi Game” series, which adapted the popular manga about high school students caught in a game testing money versus friendship into live-action through both film and drama adaptations. Yuichi discovers that Mikasa is the mastermind behind the Tomodachi Game, but he voluntarily advances to the final game to destroy the management side that profits from these dangerous games, with Mikasa choosing to follow the same path. The final game is a competitive “Friendship Hide-and-Seek” where losing means doubling the debt burden. The mysterious Minase Maria joins Yuichi and Mikasa’s team, but Yuichi and Mikasa trust each other as they set traps for the opposing team and advance through the game.
