Mugimaki Satoko is a 38 year old single woman who lives a simple life working part time 4 days a week. Her life dramatically changes after she is diagnosed with an illness. She’s forced to quit her job and search for a new place to live. She finds herself living in an apartment complex with her landlord living next door. Satoko discovers medicinal cuisine and seeks to improve her diet and accept herself.

Following the drama series that aired in April 2025, a special drama has been announced to air in Summer 2026.

Mugimaki Satoko (Sakurai Yuki), now living with a lifelong illness, has given up on her dream of moving to the countryside and spends her days feeling slightly down while commuting four days a week to a part-time job from her modest public housing apartment with a monthly rent of 50,000 yen.
One winter morning, her next-door housemate Tsukasa (Miyazawa Hio) invites her on an early morning walk, but she turns him down. Believing that everything requires physical strength she no longer has, Satoko lacks confidence.
Even when her landlady Suzu (Kaga Mariko) and neighbor Kourai (Doi Shiori) excitedly chat about romance, she can only respond with a hesitant, “Someone like me…”
 
Concerned for her, Suzu invites Satoko over to her home. Surrounded by nourishing medicinal cuisine and the warmth of her coworkers and neighbors at the housing complex, Satoko gradually discovers small moments of happiness in her everyday life.
 
This special episode offers a gentle and heartwarming glimpse into the ordinary yet quietly beautiful days that make life truly special.
