On the day of a biennial reunion among mystery novelist Arisugawa Arisu’s high school classmates, one of the expected attendees is found murdered. The only clue: the victim wasn’t wearing a watch. From this single detail, clinical criminologist Himura Hideo uses razor-sharp, airtight logic to expose the killer. A premium mystery drama woven together with bittersweet memories from Arisu’s youth.

A hostess was attacked in an apartment in Kagurazaka. A man caught in the act and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder told investigators that he had been threatened by another man he met at an izakaya, which led him to commit the crime.
 
However, it was later revealed that ten days before the incident, the suspect’s wife had been murdered by an unknown assailant. As a second case emerges, Rintaro’s sharp deductive skills come into play as he pursues the truth behind these connected events.
