While she leads a fulfilling career as a wedding planner, Rinka (Tsuchiya Tao) doesn’t have much luck in her personal love life. At the suggestion of a colleague, she signs up for a new matchmaking app that ultimately pairs with the suspicious Tomu (Sakuma Daisuke). Although he appears ordinary, Rinka can’t shake an odd feeling – it’s as if the person before her and the one behind his dating profile are two separate people. Around the same time, an ongoing investigation on a series of murders targeting marriage app users zones in on Tomu as a suspect, but the case is about to take a surprising twist…

Tsuchiya Tao and Snow Man’s Sakuma Daisuke will co-star once again in the suspense thriller Matching TRUE LOVE, the sequel to Matching, an original story that depicts the terrifying events that begin with a meeting through a matching app. The film is scheduled for release in 2026.
 
The first movie followed Tadashima Rinka (Tsuchiya Tao) a romantically inexperienced woman who joins a dating app on her best friend’s recommendation, and Nagayama Tomu (played by Sakuma Daisuke), who matches with Rinka and becomes a dangerous stalker. The two get caught up in a serial murder case targeting couples who married after meeting through “matching” apps.
This sequel features a “matching tour” set in an isolated resort hotel on a tropical island, where the characters’ hidden pasts are gradually exposed, triggering a deadly survival game beyond imagination.
