Dr. Asura

This work is a medical drama depicting the activities of a brilliant emergency physician who never refuses any emergency patient and will use any means necessary to save them. The protagonist is Anno Shura, a 39-year-old emergency physician belonging to the Emergency Department of Taishaku General Hospital. Demonstrating her true abilities in the most chaotic situations, sometimes performing miraculous operations on two critically ill patients simultaneously, she is called “Doctor Asura” within the hospital, likened to the fierce six-armed deity Asura. She also possesses the special ability to predict emergency hotline calls. When Shura whispers “it’s coming,” the hotline invariably rings, and emergency patients are brought in.

The single episode spin-off of Dr. Asura begins with Yakushiji taking on the role of medical supervisor for a lifesaving emergency drama. The head of the Emergency Department at Taishaku General Hospital, Daikoku Shuji, receives a request from a TV station to supervise the medical aspects of their drama. However, Daikoku suddenly becomes unavailable the day before filming, and he instructs Yakushiji to take his place. Although initially reluctant, Yakushiji’s attitude changes when he hears the name of the lead actress. The head nurse, Sanpo Kayoko, unable to hide her concerns, asks nurses Mizuyoshi Ayumu and Kuyu Sanae as well as emergency responder Kichijoji Takumi, who happened to be at the Emergency Department, to accompany Yakushiji. When Yakushiji arrives at the TV station, he finds himself embroiled in an astonishing and unexpected turn of events.
