Synopsis

This marks Rie Miyazawa’s first leading film role since Paper Moon (Kami no Tsuki), directed by Ryota Nakano, who gained attention for his independent film Capturing Dad (Chichi o Tori ni). It is also Nakano’s commercial film debut. The story follows Futaba, a mother raising her daughter with her characteristic brightness and strength, who suddenly receives a terminal diagnosis. Accepting this harsh reality, Futaba sets out to accomplish four “must-do” tasks: bringing back her husband, who unexpectedly left home a year ago; reopening the family bathhouse that has been closed; and ensuring her overly gentle daughter becomes independent, among other goals.

Rie Miyazawa takes on the role of Futaba, who embodies kindness and strength, embracing everyone she meets. Hana Sugisaki plays her daughter, Azumi, while Joe Odagiri portrays the estranged husband. The cast is rounded out by Tori Matsuzaka, Yukiko Shinohara, and Taro Suruga in supporting roles.
