Synopsis

This work is based on the debut novel “Bad Summer” by writer Somei Tamehito. It tells the story of Sasaki, a diligent civil servant, who becomes embroiled in criminal acts due to his meek personality and ends up in ruin. The original work, which features a single mother on the verge of child neglect, a civil servant who pressures her into a physical relationship, denizens of the underworld, and a welfare fraud drug dealer, was a topic of discussion for “only having lowlifes and villains” and has sold over 180,000 copies in total.
