Synopsis

Photographer Kitamura Ryuji (Imai Tsubasa) meets aspiring jazz singer Koharu (Sumire) during a guest lecture at a vocational school. When she asks him to photograph her while she sings, Ryuji visits her live performance at a jazz club—and is instantly captivated. Though he lives in Tokyo with his wife and child, Ryuji begins holding a solo exhibition every year in Sapporo, showcasing photos of Koharu. Once a year, he captures her subtle changes through the lens, preserving her evolving presence over time. But in the spring of their ninth exhibition, they are suddenly told the gallery will be closing – signaling that the end of their unique connection may be near.
