Synopsis

The Earth receives an influx of refugees from outer space of a lifeform called “X”. While countries on Earth agonize over how to deal with the situation, Japan follows in America’s footsteps and announces they will accept these X refugees. The lifeforms transform their appearance to look like normal human beings and blend into everyday society. However, residents in the host countries are unable to distinguish refugees by appearance, which causes unrest and anxiety. Sasa Kentaro is a weekly magazine journalist, who begins to track down Kashiwagi Ryoko, who he suspects of being an X refugee. He hides his true identity and approaches her, and the two gradually draw closer. Eventually, he becomes torn between between his feelings for her, his pride as a reporter and his guilt.
