Synopsis

This story unfolds during the late 1980s summer at the height of Japan’s economic bubble, following 11-year-old Fuki, a young girl living with her ill father and work-consumed mother. The free-spirited and imaginative Fuki daydreams while interacting with adults facing their own life circumstances. The narrative delicately portrays childlike emotions while warmly and humorously depicting the unpredictability of life and the poignancy of human relationships experienced by the adults in Fuki’s world.
