Synopsis

A dramatic retelling of the life of Kirishima Satoshi, a fugitive who spent nearly half a century on the run from authorities for his involvement with the East Asia Anti-Japan Armed Front.

The story begins in the 1970s during his university days. Kirishima sympathized with and joined the activities of the anti-Japan Armed Front. After the 1974 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries bombing incident that caused numerous casualties, he became deeply conflicted. As police investigations intensified and the organization collapsed, the wanted Kirishima fled using an alias. Eventually, he secured live-in employment at a construction company and established a quiet life off the radar…

In January 2024, it was discovered that Kirishima had been hospitalized in Kanagawa Prefecture with terminal stomach cancer. Although he had been living under an alias while evading capture, he revealed his true identity stating, “I want to face my end using my real name,” which became widely reported in the news. He passed away just three days later. Director Takahashi Banmei takes the helm to depict the extraordinary journey of Kirishima Satoshi’s remarkable life.
