Synopsis

Written by Sakashita, this original screenplay follows the story of Ichikawa, a public junior high school teacher who struggles with adulthood, set against the backdrop of uniquely Japanese school rules, toxic working conditions for educators, and the growing impact of social media and online journalism. When dozens of students in Ichikawa’s homeroom class dye their hair blonde in protest of school regulations, the entire school descends into chaos. As Ichikawa grows distant from his girlfriend he finds himself backed into a corner – until the ringleader of the protest proposes a bold plan, prompting Ichikawa to team up with him.
