Synopsis

Keiko (Kishii Yukino) trains regularly at a small boxing gym and maintains her place in the ring as a pro, but — having been born deaf in both ears with difficulty lying and feigning smiles — the words she struggles to express begin to pile up. In a letter, she writes to the gym owner that she would like to take a break, but can’t find it in her to give it to him, later finding out that the gym may shut down…

Loosely-based on the autobiographical novel, Makenaide (負けないで), about Japan’s first deaf professional boxer, Ogasawara Keiko (小笠原恵子).
