Synopsis

A film adaptation of mystery novel “Uso” by author Kitakuni Koji.

Chisako, a picture book author had no choice but to return to the countryside to care for her ailing father, who has developed dementia. One day, while feeling frustrated living with her estranged father, she helps a boy who has lost his memory in an accident. Upon finding signs of abuse on the boy, Chisako begins living with him, falsely claiming to be his mother in order to protect him. At first it is awkward but gradually the three of them begin to form a new kind of family. However, their happiness is short-lived…
