Synopsis

Novelist Yazoe (Ayano Go) has remained single into his 40s after a failed marriage, abandoned by his wife. To fill the emptiness in his heart, he occasionally spends nights with a prostitute, Chieko (Tanaka Rena), while carrying the weight of his past rejection. Yet there is another reason why he shies away from romance; he struggles with a personal “secret” that he cannot reveal to anyone, one that is a source of deep insecurity.
 
His daily routine is to project himself onto the protagonists of the love stories he writes, using fiction to explore the question of whether “spiritual love” is truly possible. After a small mishap involving her, the two are drawn into a strange affair—unsettling Yazoe’s daily life and shaking his heart.
