Synopsis

After losing his mother at the age of fourteen, Kosuke (Suzuki Ryohei) spends his adolescence in a rural town suppressing the fact that he’s gay. Now living in Tokyo, his days are filled working at a publishing company as a fashion magazine editor when he meets personal trainer Ryuta (Miyazawa Hio). Drawn and attracted to each other, they’re content with the time they spend together–sometimes even including Ryuta’s mother in their company. For Kosuke, who bears thoughts of his own late mother and supports Ryuta and the closeness he shares with his, it’s a happy time for love – but when Ryuta fails to show up for a date, a new page of transition is marked.

Adapted from the autobiographical novel Egoist (エゴイスト) by Takayama Makoto (高山真).
