Synopsis

Yoshitaka Yuriko makes her first leading role in a TBS drama series in 10 years, playing Higashiyama Yui, a 32-year-old office worker who strictly adheres to the motto of “leaving work exactly on time.” Due to past trauma, she believes “work isn’t worth risking your life for” and prioritizes both efficiency at work and her private life. While helping her colleagues with various problems, she carries her own emotional baggage from her rookie days and a former workaholic fiancé.

The drama is based on Akeno Kiko’s novel “I Leave the Office On Time” (published by Shinchosha), which gained popularity among working professionals in their 20s and 30s for its fresh take on workplace fiction. The author, drawing from her own corporate experience, is known for her thorough research and engaging writing style.

The screenplay is co-written by Okudera Satoko and Shimizu Yukako, known for dramas like “Night View Car” (2013) and “Reverse” (2017). The series is produced by Arai Junko (known for “Unnatural”) and Yao Kasumi (known for “Reprint”), with direction by Kaneko Fuminori (known for “You’re Not That Special” and “Love Story with Forgetting”).
