Synopsis

This marks Ubukata’s first mystery work, a story set at Christmas that depicts the human drama surrounding “lies.” The protagonist, Omori Mitsuko, has been tossed about by lies throughout her life and has developed a tendency to distrust the words of those around her, labeling them as “liars.” On Christmas Eve night, as snow falls steadily, a small, quietly operating izakaya attracts a gathering of peculiar customers.
