Synopsis

During the Warring States period, born in Kashima—the sacred land of the sword—Tsukahara Bokuden learned the techniques of Kashima Chuko-ryu from his youth. At 17, he set out on a warrior training journey, facing numerous real sword duels and battles throughout his life without ever being wounded. This legendary swordsman endured turbulent life-and-death struggles, then secluded himself in Kashima Shrine for a thousand days to finally master the “single stroke.” Though famous, Bokuden’s youth remains shrouded in mystery and has rarely been depicted on screen.
