Synopsis

Season 7 embraces the central theme of “diversity,” showcasing a special investigation unit whose members are as varied as the cases they tackle. Led by team leader Kokubuta Seiji (Nakamura Baijaku) and supervisor Asawa Naoki (Inohara Yoshihiko), the unit includes the distinctive personalities of Komiyama Shiho (Haneda Michiko), Aoyagi Yasushi (Fukikoshi Mitsuru), Yazawa Hideaki (Taguchi Hiromasa), Shindo Ryo (Yamada Yuki), and Takao Yuma (Fukagawa Mai). These strong-willed investigators differ dramatically across generations, career backgrounds, and personal circumstances, extending even to their investigative perspectives and methodological approaches.

 

While conflicts arise regularly among team members due to their contrasting viewpoints, the foundation of trust built over the years enables them to acknowledge their differences openly and work together effectively as a cohesive unit. Meanwhile, the crimes they confront have similarly evolved to reflect contemporary society’s increasing complexity and diversity.
