Synopsis

A popular singer Kitami Eiji (played by Yokoyama Ryo) is found dead in his concert venue’s dressing room! With barely any fingerprints at the crime scene, the victim’s body is virtually the only evidence.

Izumi Chisato (played by Matsuyuki Yasuko), a superintendent at the Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigation Division, orders the immediate transfer of the body to the “Japan Institute of Legal Medicine,” a national agency specializing in cause of death investigations.

Meanwhile, detective Takahashi Kirihito (played by Takasugi Mahiro) continues his meticulous investigation, suspecting Kitami’s death isn’t from natural causes. He discovers that both the agency president Aida Mikihiko (played by Ino Manabu) and the first witness, stylist Miyajima Sayaka (played by Yanagi Miki), had recent conflicts with Kitami.

However, when Kirihito reports this to Chisato, she dismisses it, insisting the investigation be put on hold until autopsy results are available. Meanwhile, Hyodo Kuniaki (played by Nishida Toshiyuki), director of the Institute, assigns the judicial autopsy to his most trusted forensic pathologist, Yuzuki Takashi (played by Omori Nao).
