Synopsis

High-schooler Kurose Reiji (Araki Towa) lives a mundane life, confined to a town he feels he has no hopes of escaping. His mother is emotionally checked-out and his brother a recluse, leaving him duty-bound to to take care of his incapacitated grandmother. To add insult to injury, his former friend Minegishi Gen treats him like a complete lackey. His only escape from this monotonous life is the comfort he gets from watching performances of city-pop idol group “Acrylic”. While he figures he can get by just living as is, everything changes once he encounters his favorite idol Aoe Nagi (Kitano Hinako) – and she offers him a way out of life – through death. Will he succumb to temptation? Is there hope in living?
