Synopsis
A new original series produced by Disney+, Shiko Funjatta is set 30 years after the events in the movie.
College student Moriyama Ryota (Hayama Shono) has been unable to dedicate himself to anything ever since he quit baseball due to an injury in his first year of high school. As a result, he leads a carefree school life, but is in danger of being kicked from college due to a lack of credits. His professor then offers him a condition, to join the sumo club, where he meets Honoka, the only member of the club. Honoka is a sophomore whose life has been devoted to sumo since she was a child, and she is completely hopeless at anything else. However, she’s dead set against letting Ryota, who has no intention of taking sumo seriously, join the club.
Disney+ have announced this series for US regions. TBC.
