Synopsis

In the Summer Siege of Osaka, a ninja named Sarutobi Sasuke single-handedly charged into Tokugawa Ieyasu’s victorious army, making even Ieyasu tremble with fear. Thirty-six years later, during the Edo period when Tokugawa rule begins to falter, a young ninja spends his days training deep in the mountains. This is Sasuke, grandson of Sarutobi Sasuke and the third-generation heir to the Sarutobi name.

By chance, Sasuke comes to Kyoto to protect Oichi, daughter of a senior retainer from a small domain caught in a web of conspiracy. As Sasuke and his companions battle enemies, he grows both as a ninja and as a person while searching for his long-lost father.
