Synopsis

Company employees Shibata Yuichi and Inaba Keiko, who are of the same generation, happen to run into each other on the morning commuter train departing from Yokohama Station. The two fall in love at first sight without knowing each other’s names. After exchanging words on the crowded train, they realize that both of their companies are located near Marunouchi (Yuichi in Tamura-cho, Keiko in Kasumigaseki), but they know nothing more about each other.

 

Meanwhile, in Yokohama, Yuichi’s younger brother Ken and Keiko’s younger sister Akiko meet when applying for cram school. The next day, during a date to Enoshima, Keiko’s older sister comes along, and through a photo that Ken took, he realizes that his friend’s older sister is the person he fell in love with at first sight, so he asks to meet her once. Yuichi was aiming for overseas study through his company and thought he didn’t need a girlfriend at the moment, but as he went on dates with Keiko, they began a relationship. Akiko has feelings for Ken, but Ken has a one-sided crush on his high school classmate Yoko. However, when Yoko rejects him at Christmas, Akiko immediately invites him to a Christmas party at her home, which leads to them starting a relationship.

 

Furthermore, family-wide friendships develop, including the sisters’ mother Kiku, whose husband disappeared 13 years ago, and the brothers’ father Kosaku, a company employee around retirement age who was widowed (both are families of three).
