Synopsis

This work is a mystery based on Saikai (Reunion), the novel by Yokozeki Dai, which won the 56th Edogawa Ranpo Prize.
The story begins 23 years in the past. Back then, Junichi, who was in the sixth grade, buried a handgun used in a certain incident under the cherry tree at his elementary school together with three classmates.
The four children who shared this secret eventually went their separate ways as they grew up.
 
Years later, with time having passed, Junichi becomes a police detective and is assigned to investigate a murder case.
There, he reunites with Makiko, one of the friends who shared the secret – and his first love – as “detective and suspect.”
Furthermore, it was discovered that the murder weapon used in the crime was the handgun that the four had buried all those years ago.
