Synopsis

In 2018, special fraud criminals stole a staggering 36.5 billion yen across Japan using various scams like “bank transfer fraud” and “tax refund fraud” to deceive citizens and steal their money. Despite numerous public warnings, why do these crimes continue unabated? Why are only low-level “runners” and “callers” caught while the masterminds remain untouchable?

This compelling social drama follows a determined female detective from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who faces these frustrating dilemmas head-on. She dedicates herself to understanding the reality of fraud criminals and bringing them to justice at any cost.

Based on extensive research, this original series explores the lives of young criminals, elderly victims, and the detectives pursuing them. Though their circumstances differ dramatically, they all share a certain “difficulty in living.” Through the protagonist’s perspective, the drama portrays how people continue to “live earnestly” despite their struggles.
