Synopsis

The story follows a man and woman who have known each other for twelve years, portraying a love that has “no right answers.” Atsuko works at the bento shop “Yonesuke” in Tokyo’s Yanaka district, while Kohei is a benrishi – an attorney specializing in patents and intellectual property procedures – who handles filings on behalf of his clients. The two first met during their university days and are now living together. They share meals every day and enjoy a comfortable life together, noticing even the smallest changes in each other. But despite this seemingly perfect routine, Kohei ends up having a one-time affair with his colleague and fellow benrishi, Yuko. Standing at a crossroads in their lives, the three struggle with doubt, get swept along by their emotions, and hold stubbornly to their own beliefs as they are forced to confront what “family” truly means.
