Produced by NHK’s Osaka station, this heartwarming drama unfolds across present-day Osaka and Yoron Island in Kagoshima Prefecture. The story follows Fujishiro Nagisa, a trainee veterinarian who has just graduated from veterinary school and started working at a university-affiliated animal medical center in Osaka.
Having achieved her dream of becoming a doctor for the animals she loves, Fujishiro soon discovers that her real challenge isn’t the animals at all — it’s their wonderfully quirky owners. Though she’s someone who prefers to do things at her own pace and isn’t the best with people, she finds herself drawn into the personal struggles and family worries of every pet owner she meets.
As she navigates the emotional weight of caring for terminally ill animals and helping families say goodbye, Fujishiro comes to a quiet realization: treating animals is really about understanding the people who love them.
