Synopsis

Celebrity couple Noguchi Takahiro and Naoko are murdered in their high-rise condominium. Present at the crime scene are four university students who had devised “a certain plan”: Nozomi, Naruse, Ando, and Nishizaki. Nishizaki is arrested at the scene, confesses, is found guilty, and sentenced to ten years in prison. A decade later, former police officer Takano, who harbors doubts about the verdict in this case, begins pursuing the truth behind the incident. Takano is convinced that this case originated from “a certain incident” that Nozomi and Naruse caused fifteen years earlier during summer on an island floating in the Seto Inland Sea. “They committed a crime back then. Each for their own ‘N’.” This psychological crime thriller weaves together past and present mysteries, exploring how childhood secrets and guilt can destroy lives years later. As the investigation unfolds, the complex relationships between the four students and their shared traumatic past reveal the true motivation behind the murder, challenging everything the public believed about justice and redemption.
