When two geniuses met, they brought new light to schooling

Ichiro grew up wary of his family’s illustrious role in education. But one day, he meets an underprivileged child struggling to keep up in class and he’s shaken at seeing someone who doesn’t have access to a support structure. Meanwhile, Ichiro’s grandfather, Goro, a legendary juku (private tutoring school) teacher, hands him a manuscript of his new work, Mikazuki. It tells the history of Goro and his wife, Chiaki, as they fought to pioneer a unique social system that still augments public education today in Japan. A story of a family and its calling that spans half a century.
