Synopsis

High school students Kazama Ryuji (Iwasaki Taisho), Sena Satoru (Sato Ryuga) and Kasuga Atsushi (Ukisho Hidaka) are classmates and live in the suburbs of the Kanto region. While they are gathered at their hideout one day, they suddenly feel a big tremor and hear the loud clap of thunder as they are thrown against the wall. In the next moment, they see a man wearing a dirty military uniform and holding a bayonet. The three of them try to flee but are captured by him. They learn that he is Mihira Sanpei (Hakata Hanamaru), a soldier who travelled in time from the battle of Guam. Ryuji, Satoru and Atsushi set out to show him the streetscape of the Reiwa era. Thinking that their lives might change if they are together with Sanpei, they ask him to spend the summer with them. Their classmates, the twin brothers Yamada Akihiko (Fujii Naoki) and Kazuhiko (Kanasashi Issei), join the group. As they hang about with Sanpei who came from a difficult period, they begin to question what is true happiness and freedom.
