Synopsis

A live-action adaptation of the popular shoujo manga “My Love Story with Yamato” by Sato Zakuri (published by Shueisha Margaret Comics), which has sold over 3.2 million copies.

 

Kinoshita Mairu (played by Sakurai Hinako) is a plain high school girl with zero romance experience, nicknamed “Poison Mushroom” by her classmates due to her mushroom-like hairstyle and thick glasses. After being told by the school’s most handsome boy, “Don’t use being ugly as an excuse!”, she becomes determined to change.

 

Kumada Tenyu (played by Kamio Fuju) is the school’s most handsome boy – a sharp-tongued critic with god-like makeup skills who often scolds Mairu with harsh words like “You fool!” Despite his harsh exterior, he helps transform her into a cute girl.

 

The cast includes Otomo Karen as Matsumaru Ayano, an “Amazonian woman” who never lets her target escape, Ito Asahi as Kudo Narutaro, the “Most Desirable Boyfriend” from another school, Akutsu Nichika as Kouzuki Mirai, Mairu’s childhood friend with complicated love issues, and Miura Ryosuke as Kinoshita Fuwari, Mairu’s understanding uncle who is “feminine in appearance and heart.”
