Synopsis

Based on the manga of the same name by Asami Rito, this work is a human crime suspense story about a daughter whose former police officer father was killed on Christmas Eve, as she pursues the truth using a left-behind letter as her clue. The letter contains the word “enzai” (falsely accused), and two cases – one from the present and one from the past – become intertwined.

Hirose plays Yamashita Komugi, a university student who has lived a modest life alone with her father since losing her mother. She discovers that the person arrested for her father’s murder is the only son of a man whom her father had arrested 22 years ago as the perpetrator of a family massacre case. Matsuyama has been cast as Matsukaze Yoshiteru, a lawyer who investigates the case alongside Komugi. While he strives to live an upright life, he’s a peculiar character who tends to be overly logical and speaks more than necessary, yet he also has a caring side that makes it impossible for him to turn a blind eye to others’ troubles. One day, when Komugi visits him informing him that his name was in the letter left behind, he decides to help her.
