Synopsis

Oiwa Junichi receives a simple murder report from Superintendent Oyamada Daisuke, and feeling a sense of unease, arrives at the crime scene. The victim is Endo Mari, a computer graphics creator who works for a design company that is a subsidiary of the “Big Hole” group, a major IT company. Mari had been absent without permission for a few days and could not be reached. At the scene, along with a laptop, a proposal had been left in a bag and upon investigation it was discovered that Mari had been solely responsible for the design of a metaverse project to recreate the Tokyo Bay area within a virtual space. The words “Akino Kurumi” and “bomb threat” had also been searched upon the laptop before the incident had occured. Taniho Kensaku reports that a series of criminal bomb threats to “blow up the Big Hole” headquarters were reported recently on the internet and to his surprise it is discovered that all were sent from Mari’s laptop. Was the victim involved in the bomb threat.. ?
Then the news comes that another body has been discovered, in the same location as Mari was killed. Moreover, anonymous information revealed that the murdered man had met a woman who looked like Kurumi…?
