Synopsis

Ashihara Mizuho, a rookie female jockey, lost her father who operated a horse breeding farm after the earthquake disaster. Following this tragedy, she graduated from the prestigious central horse racing school and made her professional debut, but struggled with poor performance results that left her career in jeopardy. During this difficult period, Mizuho found refuge at the Midorikawa Stable at Suzuta Racecourse, a local horse racing venue far from the glamorous central racing circuit.

The Midorikawa Stable was a run-down facility on the verge of collapse, managed by an unmotivated trainer named Midorikawa Koji. The stable housed a collection of misfit characters including stubborn and inflexible veteran stable hands, along with a young stable worker suffering from selective mutism who showed kindness only to horses while keeping his heart closed to human relationships. This forgotten corner of the racing world had earned a reputation as a dumping ground for society’s outcasts and misfits – a place where those deemed useless elsewhere would eventually wash up like driftwood, creating an unlikely family of racing industry rejects seeking redemption through their shared passion for horses.
